Was just reminded yet again how great it is to have preserved my web presence across platforms by consolidating on my website. Check out my archive:

My entire public web life, from 2002 to today.

I’ve been thinking about my Dwell CMS project and how complex it is to stand up an site that is highly portable. With my approach, I could very easily create a, self-contained, portable, experience within a single container. πŸ€”

If there is sufficient interest, I’d love to find two or three other motivated developers to work with. I think I’m onto something, but its slow going on my own. I’ll get it to production eventually, but building a vibrant community is appealing to me. If you’re interested, hit me up.

As I have shared, I’ve been working on a new platform for my website, built with Python, Flask, and DuckDB. Its fast, stores content on disk as JSON files, supports many β€œkinds” of content, IndieAuth, Micropub, etc. Its not open source, but I’d be curious to know if there are any develolpers out there who would be interested in collaborating.

The time for an easily self-hosted personal CMS, designed around the Fediverse and IndieWeb is now.

No, I don’t mean hacking it into a legacy CMS like WordPress. It needs to be modern, and completely focused.

(The CMS I use, Known, had the right idea, about 5 years too early).

The open web is showing its resiliency and longevity. Silos inevitably fail, while protocols and standards endure.

Navigating the rollercoaster of social networking silos is much easier when all it takes is a plug-in on your website πŸ˜‡
